Know exactly which certificates are about to expire — before an inspection does.

Most teams track training and competency certificates in a spreadsheet one person has to remember to check. Upload a photo of each card or your existing spreadsheet and get an instant competency matrix with expiry traffic-lights — so an expired ticket never costs you an inspection or a tender again.

Everything you need to see who's covered

Point your phone at a stack of cards, or drop in the spreadsheet you already keep. Certcue does the reading, the matching and the sorting — you get a matrix you can act on in minutes.

Snap or upload

Photograph CSCS cards, certificates and insurance docs — or upload the CSV you already keep. It reads angled, laminated, glare-y phone photos.

Auto-built matrix

We read the holder, qualification, issuer and expiry date off each card and assemble a competency matrix for you — no spreadsheet wrangling.

Expiry traffic-lights

See at a glance what's valid, expiring soon, or already expired — sorted so the tickets that could fail an inspection are at the top.

The matrix you get back

Upload your certificates and Certcue returns a live competency matrix — a headline count, a "needs attention" list sorted worst-first, and every ticket per person with its expiry.

Certcue result: a competency matrix with 8 certificates across 4 people, a needs-attention table showing expired and expiring tickets with dates, and a per-person breakdown

Sample data — your matrix is built from your own certificates.

When you're ready

When a subcontractor's insurance lapses, the liability lands on you

The free check reads any certificate — your own crew's or a subcontractor's — but it's a one-off snapshot. The Certcue vault keeps it live: it tracks every vendor's certificate of insurance and chases them automatically before cover expires, so an expired COI never becomes your problem on site or at renewal.

Built for contractors, freight brokers and property managers who carry the risk when someone else's paperwork slips.

Frequently asked questions

How do I track staff certificate expiry?

Upload a photo of each certificate or your existing spreadsheet, and Certcue builds a competency matrix with expiry traffic-lights so you can see at a glance what is valid, expiring soon, or already expired — sorted by what needs action first.

What happens to the certificates I upload?

They are read in your browser session to build your matrix and nothing is written to a database — there is no account and no sign-up. The free checker keeps nothing; your data stays yours.

What is a competency matrix?

A single view of who on your team holds which qualifications and when each one lapses — assembled automatically from the holder, qualification, issuer, and expiry date read off each certificate.

What file types can I upload?

Photos of certificates and cards (for example CSCS cards, training certificates, and insurance documents) — angled, laminated or glare-y phone photos are fine — or a CSV spreadsheet export you already keep.

Do I need an account?

No. The checker is free and needs no sign-up. It stores nothing and there's no lock-in — upgrade to the vault only if you want it kept live and chased for you.

What is the difference between the free check and the vault?

The free check is a one-off snapshot and stores nothing. The vault (from $99/mo) keeps your matrix live, chases each subcontractor automatically before their insurance or certificates lapse, and generates an audit-ready pack for inspections, tenders and client audits.

How does Certcue chase my subcontractors?

When a vendor's certificate of insurance or a certificate is 30, 14 or 7 days from expiry — or already expired — the vault emails that subcontractor to renew. Emails are sent from Certcue with your address as the reply-to, so responses come back to you.

Is my vendors' data secure?

Yes. Vendor and certificate-holder details are encrypted, each account's data is isolated, and GDPR handling is built in. You can cancel and export at any time — no lock-in.
